Telangana state,Rajanna Sirisilla District Veernapally Mandal Garjanapally village, 300 Dalits have been living on podu farming for 40 years. Cotton, lentils, maize, paddy and other crops are grown in the forest and squirrel lame lands near their village.
During the election, local Sirisilla constituency MLA and state minister KTR (K Taraka ramarao son of Chief Minister KCR )Garjanapalli also promised to fight for the highlands during the campaign.

However, on Sunday morning, September 12, 2021, 200 police and forest officials cordoned off the village of Garjanapalli and cordoned off Pottigutta, Moolavagu and Tummalakunta.
Forest police forcibly planted plants by men and women, who were brought from the surrounding villages along with farm laborers’ to pick up cotton, sorghum and maize plants from Dalit-cultivated lands. Guntuka Narsayya, a farmer, tried to commit suicide by drinking insecticide in protest.
 Civil Liberties Committee Telangana state as Fact Finding Committee went to the village and assessed the situation. Knowing the details of the incident that took place there analyzed the problem from all angles and released the statement.

Civil Liberties Committee Telangana strongly condemns the grabbing and plantation in Garjanapalli Dalit lands.

In Garjanapalli village, Veernapally zone, Rajanna Sirisilla district, on September 12, 2021, on the orders of the Telangana government, Two Hundred Dalits were attacked by police & forest officials and on the incident of planting and destroying crops and planting plantation plants. Civil Liberties Committee Telangana state, Civil Liberties Committee, Karimnagar District Committee and Nizamabad District Committees of the Civil Liberties Committee jointly inspected and collected the Facts along with the Dalit farmer families who were cultivating the destroyed crops and lands in Garjanapalli village on 26 september,2021Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.

In the village of Garjanapalli, Veernapally Zone, Rajnna Sirisilla District, about Three Hundred Dalit families belonging to the Madiga community have been struggling day and night for survival with bears, wild boars and other ferocious wildlife for their livelihood for the past 40 years. Lives on cotton, lentils, maize, rice and other crops.
Mula Vaagu river (Stream Mula just like mini river )Born in Nizamabad district, and flows from the center of Garjanapalli village to the martyrs' Statue (Amarika stupam) and the bus stop shelter beside in North direction of Village to Nimmapally village, Vemulawada town, shabash pally and merges Manair Vaagu Near to Kodurpaka village.(Now the Mid Manair project was constructed,so it joins in Mid manairProject).

On the 70-acre squirrel pond on either side of the source and on the 20-acre land at Pottigutta, 174 Dalit families have been plowing and plowing trees and rocks for 40 years. The Dalits are very poor and they have no other job.

Farmers are cultivating their own poles and lines for the current connection to the boreholes and pumps through the Cooperative Electric Supply Society (CESS-Siricilla). Dobbala Rajaiah , Guvvala lingam and Arella Pochaiah were died to save lands of Pottigutta. The Garjanapalli is a village in Sirisilla Assembly constituency. Rajanna Sirisilla District was newly formed on 11 October 2016 from the joint Karimnagar District after formation of Telangana state on 2nd July 2014.

During the first Telangana state elections held in 2014, on the occasion of the second Telangana state elections on December 7, 2018, the local Sirisilla constituency MLA in the campaign, Minister of State KTR Garjanapalli, promised to vote for the TRS party and voted for the TRS party to win. Garjanapalli dalits also voted for Bandi Sanjay Kumar MP of Karimnagar Parliament constituency from BJP party held in April 2019 ,17th parliament Elections,he also supports Garjanapally Dalitha on podu farming,given promises for Pattadam to podu land.Now he is President of BJP Telangana state, as they are promised to allot the patta lands but the pattas, which are due for Podu lands were not allotted by Telangana Government as per Forest Act 2006.
Early in the morning before 6am, on Sunday 12 September 2021, Two Hundred police and forest officials cordoned off the village of Garjanapalli and cordoned off the area towards Pottigutta, Moolavagu and Tummalakunta. Female police and male police intercepted the men and forcibly planted plantations in the forest.
Guntuka Narsaiah, a farmer, tried to committ suicide by drinking insecticide in protest. He was taken home forcibly by the police in a police Jeep. Duvvala Jamuna and Guntuka Lakshmi were seriously injured in the attack. Forest officers and police threatened the Garjanapally dalith podu farmers not to damage plantation and shouldn't enter the occupied land by forest department.if anybody comes near the plantation. will faces up to 7 years of prison they warned and planted...
