On 8.8.2021, the CLC fact finding team visited the site and manhole in which two scavengers namely shiva and ananthaiah who were focibly made to get down in the 15 feet deep manhole without arranging proper safety arrangements and lightning eventually resulted into their deaths. The fact finding team enquired the incident in detailed with the residents of the colony, spoke to the deceased family members and taken up the matter with ghmc zonal commissioner maruti diwakar and ee ramesh highlighting the utter negligence of ghmc authorities in assigning works to unfit contractors who are less concerned for qualitative works and adopting work norms this resulting in numerous untoward incidents and loss of poor people's lives. Clc put forth the following reasonable demands to the ghmc zonal commissioner ie., 1) allotting double bedroom houses to the families 2) enhancing the compensation 3) providing employment to the eligible family members etc., for which ghmc zonal commissioner assured us for rendering justice and thus in today's ghmc meeting the zonal commissioner has resolved some demands ie., allotted double bed rooms and enhanced compensation for 10 more lakhs.
