Lock down demanded for wine shops

CLC condemns government's decision/ move to open wine shops to twist the monies from poor by further exploiting their lives to pull up the state and nation's economy it is rather an insult to the people who are struggling hard poverty.  It is pity that government's which failed to feed the helpless poor starving  during lockdown or atleast make reasonable arrangements to transport them now are building economy by twisting revenues by luring them to liquor.  This act of government's is nothing but to exploit their innocent and peaceful lives and the meagre rupees or things they hold for exchange is now taking away by the governments. The poor who got habituated to intoxication had managed to come out and successfully started avoiding taking liquor during this lockdown which act has become more worriable factor for government and its treasuries. From the very beginning of lockdown the government's attitude towards migrant workers, labourers and poor is totally ignorant. No package or arrangements announced, no rehabilitation measures announced and these marginalised people put to walk hundreds, thousands of kilometres under the scorching sun with their kith and kin, heavy luggages etc., taking them on their shoulders. No shelter camps, food courts arranged on highways, no drinking water provided for them but, waived some 6 lakhs 65 thousand crores of corporate loans. It is time and again prooved that the state's interest is not poor but upper middle class, corporates and its treasuries and it is because improving it's state's finances all the poor lives are put to stake as they are lured for liquor and exposed them to high risk of contacting corona and the measures of social distancing, hailing frontline warriors efforts, campaigning etc of government's now seems farce. Also, the police which resorted brutal lathi-charged on innocent men, women and children on the pretext of coming out on roads for emergencies and to get their needs during lockdown is extending their yeomen services of protecting wine shops and supervising sales. We strongly beleive that this time the poor will be blamed for flaring up or/spreading infection, if any further.         P.M. Raju, Hyd Unit President, CLC Telangana.
